Some people move to Florida to escape the cold, but Anthony Marrone did the opposite. At just 19, he made the bold decision to leave sunny Orlando and move to Derry, New Hampshire, where he found a new home at Breathe CrossFit.
Why Move to New Hampshire?
When asked why he left Florida for winter weather, Anthony said:
💬 “I wanted to put myself in a situation where I wasn’t comfortable… to see if I could make this place a second home for me.”
And he did just that—finding a strong community, structured workouts, and a new challenge that helped him grow mentally and physically.
From Commercial Gyms to CrossFit
Like many newcomers, Anthony started at a commercial gym but quickly realized he wanted something more.
“I got tired of working out alone and needed something different. I knew I liked CrossFit, so I tried Breathe CrossFit—and never looked back!”
Since joining, he has:
✅ Gained nearly 5 lbs of muscle
✅ Lost body fat while getting stronger
✅ Improved endurance for longer workouts
The Role of Nutrition & Supplements
To fuel his training, Anthony focuses on simple, high-protein meals. A typical day includes:
🍌 Banana or protein bar for breakfast
🌯 Burrito bowl or Five Guys for lunch
🥩 HelloFresh high-protein meals for dinner
***Note, don’t read this and think Five Guys is the answer. This is what works for Anthony who is an extremely active teenage boy.
He also supplements with:
- Creatine for strength & endurance
- Vitamin D for energy & mood
- Ashwagandha (though he stopped due to side effects) ***not a supplement we recommend or are familiar with, this is specifically Anthony’s story
His Advice for Beginners
