Progress Over perfection
Second gymnastics clinic = done.
And I’m reminded (again) why we do these.
Not Everyone Leaves “Perfect”
Not everyone left today with unbroken toes-to-bar or strict handstand push-ups.
Some people are still working on their first toes-to-bar. Some people are still building the shoulder strength for handstand push ups.
And that’s completely fine.
The point of these clinics isn’t to master these movements in one hour.
The point is to give you the progressions, the drills, and the homework so you can practice and improve over the next few weeks.
Skill Development Takes Time
You don’t learn double unders in a day. You don’t learn muscle-ups in a week.
Gymnastics movements require repetition. Patience. Failure.
You’re going to miss reps. You’re going to get frustrated. You’re going to want to quit.
But if you keep showing up and practicing, you WILL get better.
The People Who Show Up
The people who show up and work on skills they’ve been avoiding, those are the people who get better.
Not because they’re more talented. Not because they’re more athletic.
Because they’re willing to do the work even when it’s uncomfortable.
Next Week: Pull-Ups and Chest-to-Bars
Two more Sundays before the Open.
If you’ve been putting this off, stop. Time to lock in.
