how to love someone with fitness goals

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow.

Here’s how to show love to someone with fitness goals.

Don’t Sabotage Their Nutrition

If they’re trying to stay on track with their diet, don’t bring home donuts.

Don’t say “one won’t hurt” when they’ve already said no.

Don’t make them feel bad for meal prepping or turning down dessert.

Support = not making it harder for them.

Celebrate Their PRs

Even if you don’t understand what a “clean and jerk” is.

Even if you think lifting heavy weights is unnecessary.

Even if you don’t care about fitness yourself.

If it matters to them, it should matter to you.

Ask about their workouts. Celebrate their wins. Show genuine interest.

Encourage Them to Go to the Gym

Especially when they’re tired or making excuses.

“You always feel better after you go. Just go.”

That’s support.

Meal Prep Together

It’s way easier when two people are doing it.

You cook the protein. They chop the veggies. You both pack containers.

It’s faster. It’s more fun. And it’s quality time together.

Ask About Their Goals (And Actually Listen)

“What are you working on right now?”

“What’s your goal for this month?”

“How can I support you?”

Then listen. Don’t dismiss it. Don’t minimize it.

Their goals matter because they matter to them.

If You Have a Swolemate, Don’t Take It for Granted

If you have a partner who supports your fitness goals, appreciate them.

Tell them thank you.

Show them it matters.

They’re making your life easier, and that’s worth acknowledging.
